Jakob Isaksson started his career as a professional Dancer in 1998 after winning "MTV Break Dance competition". He got to star in RUN DMC’s music video and after that he and his group the Beef Noodles put Sweden on the Street Dance map, entering competitions in USA, Sweden and around in Europe. Jakob later turned towards artistic performance, choreography and contemporary dance and started the north Swedish dance company, NOMO DACO, with his coworkers at NorrlandsOperan.
2005 he got an invitation to go to the Wudang Mountain in China to study Martial Arts. Something that had been a lifelong interest alongside the dance. Beef Noodles had a big project together with MTV that didn’t work out so an opportunity to travel finally opened up. After some serious fysical preparation, mandarin night classes and TCM-studies at the Wuxing Academy in Umeå it was time to go. Jakob landed in China first time in the end of 2008, and 2010 he was back again for a second trip. This time for 3 years.
Jakob studied Kung Fu in China the traditional way. First year was temple-life followed by swordplay studies in Shanghai. After winning a Silver and Bronze medal at the World Traditional Wushu Championships in Shi'yan City, he got selected in to the "Guang Zhou University professional Wushu Team". At the same time as he studied a 1 year Sports Coach Program he traveled and performed with some of the best athletes in south China. Before moving home in 2013 he was initiated as 16th generation Wudang lineage holder, under master Tang Li Long, together with Kung Fu brother Simon Brunström, Malmö.
Now he is working at House of Shapes in Stockholm with Personal Training, teaching Martial Arts, Massage treatments, Workshops and presenting his unique knowledge in the west. He is also promoting Tai Chi and Kung Fu and is also seen together with other members of Wudang Pai Stockholm at the Royal Opera and other performances. 2018 he won double Gold at the European Championships.
